Salem Lake has been called the hidden diamond in the city of Winston-Salem, NC. Located minutes away from downtown Winston-Salem, Salem Lake offers a 365-acre lake with a 6.9-mile trail that offers a scenic view of the lake at all times.
The 6.9 mile loop around the lake is open to hikers, bikers and horses. It is mostly flat double-track, suitable for riders of all skill levels. Only 2 moderate climbs (one at the spillway and another about half-way down the north side of the lake), offer a good cardio workout. Average riders should expect to loop the lake in about 35 mins.
Can get very crowded on Saturday mornings.
